San Cristobal Cabins

Eco-touristic hospitality development

San Cristobal Cabins is a project for an eco-touristic hospitality development. To achieve direct contact with nature a permeable skin that brings the guests to a surrounding exterior corridor was placed in every cabin. To be located in a small valley near San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico, between rock formations and abundant vegetation, the cabins are to be delicately assembled with an all-wood structure and unevenly staggered, allowing each an uninterrupted view of the surrounding landscape.

The design challenge for the cabin’s layout configuration consisted of adapting a base module with slight alterations to its dimensions, allowing for various user capacities and multiple furniture configurations.
