At Strong by Form I worked within the Product Technology team developing applications and solutions for Woodflow, the company’s high-performance curved timber composite technology. My work spanned product development, design-to-manufacturing automation, and fabrication prototyping, helping translate concepts into computational design processes and manufacturable products.
Design-for-manufacturing automation software:
I developed design-to-manufacturing software solutions for Woodflow-Skin, a line of free-form interior cladding panels. These tools automate the generation of fabrication data for processes such as high-fidelity surface design, visualization, tagging, trimming, finishing, and the integration of lighting and acoustic penetrations. These workflows are currently in use at at the company, facilitating the rapid production of product iterations and the coordination between design and manufacturing teams.
This video showcases the capabilities of the software.
Material samples, exhibitions and product demonstrators:
Beyond digital workflows, I coordinated and planned the production of material samples and demonstrators used to showcase Strong by Form’s technology to clients, partners, and public exhibitions. This included the design and fabrication of exhibition prototypes presented at BAU 2025 in Munich and REBUILD 2025 in Madrid.
I also collaborated with external architecture and design studios on exploratory applications of Woodflow technology. These included the development of an acoustic panel system with GioForma and Paolo Mauri, presented during Fuorisalone 2025 at the Milan Design Week.
Mobility solutions:
Additionally, I contributed to internal R&D efforts for mobility components developed in collaboration with BMW in Germany and NS (Nederlanse Spoorwegen) in the Netherlands, along with other projects and partners that remain confidential.
Woodflow façade system:
I led the design development of the architectural solution for the Woodflow façade system, and delivered the final R&D documentation required for compliance with a publicly funded research grant.
